Tipping Point

The Tipping Point is a practical and concise course that enables participants to spot the signs of mental distress. The course covers the underlying causes of mental ill health and tell-tale signs and symptoms. At the end of the Tipping Point training, attendees will be able to recognise when a person is exhibiting signs of mental distress, provide initial comfort and support, and be aware of appropriate referral and signposting routes. The Tipping Point is a practical and functional course and participants can apply their knowledge with immediate effect.

This course is a great introduction to the IT skills that you would need for admin, receptionist or for your club or group. If you can never find your documents or need to send emails to groups of people, this is the course for you. An interactive and fun course to learn the basics of common applications including, Word Processing, Excel (spreadsheets), PowerPoint and Outlook. During this course you will learn how to:
•Organise their files/folders and create a poster
•Write a letter and create a mail merged document
•Create a simple spread sheet using basic formula

Cleaning as a Job FREE

This is a fantastic introductory course that will explain what to expect in the workplace as a cleaner. You will review different working patterns including working for yourself and looking at the different environments you could be working in. You will develop your understanding of stock control, health and safety including PPE and find out more about the chemicals and equipment you would be handling on a regular basis. This introductory course will also cover professionalism and why presentation is key.

The Safe Worker Qualification is suitable for people operating at any level, in any sector who require an understanding of health and safety essentials. It is designed for learners, workers, volunteers, employees, and full and part time staff who have no supervisory or management responsibility. Level 1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (QCF)

This is towards a green labourer’s CSCS card

Tuesday 14/2/18 9:00am – 4:30pm

This is a terrific new 1 day course to gain NOCN qualification at level 1 and will include an exam at the end of the day. This is an essential element to gaining your CSCS labourer’s card. You will learn about:
• Risk Assessments
PPE, Manual Handling, Working at Heights
• Risks and hazards within a construction environment
There is a £100 registration fee, If you are claiming ESA or JSA the fee is £50.*

  • Please not this fee is non-refundable and you will need to produce identification on registration

Level 1 Award in IT User Skills (QCF)

Tuesday and Wednesday 27/02/18 – 28/03/18 9:15am – 12:15pm

This course is for those who wish to gain IT skills used in the workplace at level 1. Attending twice a week you will gain the skills in:

  • Word Processing – creating documents, inserting tables, pictures and applying formats
  • Excel – creating simple worksheets, inserting formula and creating charts
  • PowerPoint – create a presentation with text and images

This is a recognised qualification and is a fantastic foundation before moving on to Level 2.
